January is officially heath and wellness month. EVERYONE I know is doing some kind of diet, challenge, or cleanse - including myself. Well maybe not including myself, I've broken my cleanse several times already! Since being healthy is all the rage right now, I thought I'd share my favorite green smoothie recipe with you. I make these in large batches so I can just grab one in the morning on my way out the door.  

  • 1 bag of spinach
  • 1 cucumber, medium chop
  • 3 celery stalks, medium chop
  • 1 pear, quartered and seeds removed
  • 1/4 bunch of cilantro
  • 3 carrots, medium chop
  • juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 2 cups coconut water, you could use regular water but then your smoothie wouldn't be trendy and cool 
I start off by placing the coconut water and spinach in my Vita-Mix and blending at medium speed. Then, with the circular piece removed from the lid, I add the rest of the ingredients in one-by-one. Once everything is in, I turn the blender on high for a few minutes. This recipe makes just over four servings. I typically drink one right away and store the rest in mason jars (they'll keep for three days max). Also, drinking from a mason jar is just the cool thing to do.

  3. I've been taking Green juice for quite some time and it has significantly reduces the downtime and the strength of the illness. I cannot say enough good things about Green energy drinks, because even though I try to consistently exercise and eat healthy, it is not always possible.
